In SAS Enterprise Guide, you can use View ► Workspace Layout ► Stacked to display results or SAS data sets in content panels. However, you cannot always control what output displays in each panel. You should be able to select the little star icon in the upper right of each panel to cause the content to display in the currently active panel. Also, the drop-down arrow next to selected content does not always cause the selected content to display. Sometimes, changing the content in one panel causes the content to display in the other panel.

To circumvent the problem, click on the Data tab of the panel in which you want to display the selected data, then click the drop-down arrow to select which data set you want to display.
